In Massillon, there are several organizations making sure that parents have options when it comes to finding a safe place for their children to go after school. But Friday evening Owens said on his radio show that he told coach Bill Parcells that he will be ready to play. "If he gives me the nod that I can play, then you best believe I will be ready, no matter what," Owens said. "They can slap the hand; they can do whatever they want to the hand. I will be ready." | | | Aris: no hard feelings over firing | | Posted Friday, September 08, 2006 9:02:21 AM by Blog57 Team | | GRAND RAPIDS - Aris Hampers, whose 35-year radio career may have effectively ended when he was fired by 101.3 The Fox on Wednesday, wants one thing perfectly clear: he has no ill feelings toward anyone about anything. "Clear Channel really treated me well," he told woodtv.com. "They're great people and I've got great friends over there." He knew the end was near when he got an e-mail from program director Jack Lawson. "It said we needed to have a meeting. I didn't think they were going to talk about a pay cut." Turned out it was a 100% pay cut, a decision Aris believes was based solely on the economics of the radio industry. Though no one told him directly it was a bottom-line issue, "I know that's it." The most recent ratings for The Fox were not good, but "I really think the station has more listeners than the ratings show." He said the methodology for tracking radio listeners is "archaic," and that impacted the way the station was marketed....

"The offensive line did a good job all night, and the defense did great, too," Cutts said. And Cutts was quick to point to some mistakes. "We had a few broken plays, too, that we need to work on," he said. The Wildcats, the No. 4 team in Class 5A, put the game away early, dominating the first half....
